Solar EPC Solutions

Ulaginoli provides a comprehensive Engineering, Procurement and Construction solutions (EPC) to clients, thus enabling the clients to have a single point of contact for the entire project. The projects are taken on a turnkey basis and the following services are provided.

Site Survey

A visit to the site is carried out to understand the site condition and requirements. The site visit team will comprise members from Ulaginoli and the client and a basic assessment of site is made. During this process, the a provisional decision on  location of Solar modules, Solar Inverters, LT / HT Panels, Transformers and other BoS is made

Capacity Planning

Based on the client requirement and site conditions, the capacity of the Solar Photo Voltaic power plant can be decided. Capacity planning is usually made based on the client's power requirements, Solar Purchase Obligation requirements, etc.

Business Model Selection

Based on the capacity decided, business model is selected. The usual business models are

  • Build Operate Transfer (BOT)

In the BOT model, the customer funds the project. Once the plant is commissioned, though the ownership is with the client, we undertake the operation and maintenance of the plant.

  • Build Operate Own (BOO)

The BOO model involves building operating and operating the plant without and capital investment from the client. A Power purchase agreement is signed with the client till the life time of the plant. The client pays on per unit (KWhr) generated from the plant.

  • Build Operate Own Transfer (BOOT)

The BOOT  model is similar to the BOO model, but the power purchase agreement has a validity such as 10 years, 12 years or so. Till the valid period the client pays on per unit (KWhr) generated from the plant. After the valid period, the client owns the plant and enjoys free power from the sun.

Technology Selection

There are various technologies, based on which solar modules and solar inverters are selected. Crystalline (Mono & Poly) and Thin Film are two major technologies involved, though there are a few more variants under them. Similarly the inverters are classified as Micro Inverters, String Inverters and Central Inverters. Based on the project capacity, location and client's requirements, suitable technology is chosen.

System Design

Based on the capacity planned and the technology selected, the entire system is designed. A clear layout of the plant is crafted neatly with the help of Compute Aided Programming. This forms the base of the entire project to be executed.

Project Management

Based on the system design and the business model, a time line is drafted to execute the project. The various tasks that are to be taken care listed down and a team is designated for each. The time line of financial and material supply is decided and the work is commenced.

Government Liaison

Execution of a Solar Power Plant requires quite a lot of Government approvals. The required approvals and clearance from MNRE, Concerned State Electricity Board, CEIG, etc. are obtained on time.

Procurement

Based on the technology selected, the components are procured from the best in the industry following all the norms laid by the concerned Government Agencies and their syndicates.

Supply

The materials that are procured as the Government norms are supplied to the site location on time, without any compromise on the quality.

Installation & Commissioning

The Installation and Commissioning of the plant takes place, once the project contract is signed. Before the arrival of the material, the site is made ready to host the various components of a solar photo voltaic power plant.

Operation & Maintenance

Once the plant is commissioned, the operation and maintenance is taken care of as per the contract terms and conditions.
